The dangerous Campi Flegrei volcano in Italy is becoming more active

This article explains information about the potential for an eruption of the large Campi Flegrei volcano in central Italy occurring soon, where a risk also exists of it being an enormous supervolcano eruption.
Explained is what would occur if such an eruption were to happen, what can be done to protect people from such an event, and issues with how the global elite have been taking steps to protect themselves from such events while not adequately protecting the rest of society, among other issues.

This video explains that the active Campi Flegrei volcano system in central Italy has been building much pressure over time due to a naturally occurring “concrete” cap existing in the volcano due to the result of a previous eruption, where limestone in the rock had mixed with water and ash in the same type of formulation that the ancient Romans discovered and used to made concrete.
While the concrete cap has been blocking eruptions from occurring, at the same time it has been causing the volcano to build pressure which will eventually result in a sudden very large eruption when the cap breaks, which may actually happen soon as is being predicted by volcanologists.

This video which was created in March of 2025 explains some worrying indications that the Campi Flegrei volcano may be erupting soon.
Issues explained include the following:
— At about 8,000 B.C., continuous volcanic activity existed at the Campi Flegrei location, however there are no records about what that was like because it predates writing and Roman society by many millennia.
— The volcano has had three historical epochs over the past 12,000 years where large explosive eruptions were occurring every 50 or 60 years, and it appears that the volcano is entering a new epoch where it may become active once again in a similar manner as indicated by the uplift of the ground, the seismic events that have been occurring, and the upper parts of the volcano recently filling with magma once again.
— No matter how large the coming eruption may be, it will certainty be deadly to at least the people who live in the areas near to the volcano, and it might be deadly to the people living throughout central Italy or even much further.
— The period of quiet which had preceded recently is about 2,800 years (except for the eruption in 1538 A.D.), which fits the rhythm of the volcanic activity of the previous epochs.
Also see this video by the same creator which explains that the magnetic north pole of the Earth has shifted 600 miles since 1831, being an average of 22 miles a year, and 12 years from now it will be located directly underneath the location of one of the largest potential supervolcanoes in the world.

[Note this video explains an unlikely worst case scenario, although there is still much danger from smaller potential eruptions as is explained in other videos in this article.]
This documentary explains the mechanism and history of the Campi Flegrei volcano in central Italy, as well as speculating about the potential effects of it erupting as a level 8 supervolcano with fallout of 5,000 cubic kilometers, which is as extreme as the most powerful eruption in known history. The documentary starts talking about the theoretical eruption at about 45 minutes into it.
(Note that most level 8 supervolcano eruptions have had a fallout of 1,000 - 2,000 cubic kilometers, so 5,000 cubic kilometers used as the example is an unlikely size even if Campi Flegrei does erupt as a supervolcano.)
[Note: While this documentary contains interesting information, I believe its claims about the potential effects of the volcano are too pessimistic, even for its massive theoretical size, where it creates a perception that surviving such an eruption would be nearly impossible for much of humanity around the planet.
I think some of this video’s most pessimistic predictions can be debunked simply by taking into account the effects of the many previous level 8 supervolcano eruptions that have occurred in the past few million years, which has happened rather frequently on a geological timescale as explained in this video in this article.
If level 8 volcanoes would actually cause the amount of toxic damage to the world’s environment as this video claims, they would have caused the extinction of humanity and many of the large animals on the planet, which of course has not happened.
The fact that essential all large grazing animals such as elephants, giraffes, and buffaloes still exist after many of such eruptions, along with essentially no similar animals being shown in the fossil record as being rendered extinct by such eruptions proves that such events are survivable.
Therefore, I think the most insurmountable threat of a supervolcano outside of its blast zone would be in the large wake of its falling ash when people don’t have proper shelter, food and water, and a respirator. While the rest of the world outside of the fallout zone would endure some years of difficulty, I think it would almost certainly be able to pull through mostly without societies collapsing, especially if proper preparations have been made beforehand.
The video closes with a particularly pessimistic statement, “When Campi Flegrei will break through its concrete prison isn’t known. It could be tomorrow, next week, or next year.”— where it didn’t also acknowledge that the next large eruption might not occur until tens or hundreds of years from now, or even longer.]
Someone left the following comment on the page for the video about the ability of nuclear power stations to survive such an event:
Having worked in the nuclear industry, I can say for a fact that most (if not all) operating nuclear reactors in the world have contingencies in place for exactly this scenario. It would be standard procedure to immediately take the plant off-line (especially if the electrical grid was damaged to the extent depicted earlier in the video) and we would begin powering down the reactor. During this time, without access to grid power to support essential plant safety equipment, the plant’s backup diesel generators would provide this electricity. Each of these diesel generators are about the size of a house, and each reactor has three generators for redundancy. Only one of the three needs to function in order to support the safe shutdown of the plant.
From there, we would encounter all of the same problems mentioned for jet engines, cars, ships, and anything else with an internal combustion engine: the engine needs clean air to breathe. But the diesels that protect nuclear reactors do not have the same kind of filtration system found in a truck engine... These generators are housed inside of missile-proof reinforced concrete buildings. Air is drawn into an air intake outside of the building, passed through a filtration system that was specifically designed to handle volcanic particulates for an indefinite amount of time, and then through an additional intercooler stage before entering the combustion cycle. If, for any reason the filtration system begins to fail and requires maintenance to unclog, the operators would simply start up one of the two redundant backups while this maintenance is performed and the clogged filter is repaired.
In this scenario, two full shifts of essential plant personnel would be required by federal law (in the United States) to report to the nuclear site and prepare to literally live there 24/7 until the threat is effectively gone. A nuclear site has store rooms of food, water, and medical provisions to support everyone, without needing resupply or any contact at all with the outside whatsoever for months at a time. And this is something that occasionally does happen for other threats as well; for example during hurricanes, floods, or other natural disasters we would be sequestered and required to live on-site. This isn’t an unusual concept for people working in the nuclear industry, since many of them are former “Navy Nukes” who are used to being isolated underwater for months at a time on nuclear powered submarines... Which brings up another good point...
Beyond the possibility of a safe shutdown, in a worst-case scenario where none of the diesels were operating for whatever reason, we would still have the capability to generate the necessary power using the reactor in an entirely closed-loop system; the same way that a nuclear submarine would operate. We would only consider this option as a last resort, because our primary objective would be to shut the reactor down completely, but if all else fails we can still maintain safety.

This documentary contains information about large volcanoes and supervolcanoes around the world, both currently and throughout history.
— The largest volcanic eruption to occur so far this century was the eruption of Hunga Tonga near Fiji in January of 2022, which was a level 5 on the volcano explosivity index.
— The documentary explains examples of volcanoes which correspond to each of the levels of the explosivity index, such as the 2010 eruption of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjnallajokull being level 4; Mount St. Helens in 1980 being a level 5; Mount Vesuvius in Italy in 79 A.D. being a level 5; the 1991 Mount Pinatubo eruption in the Philippines being a level 6; The Greek island of Santorini in 1600 B.C. being a level 7; the Indonesian Mount Tambora in 1816 being a level 7; and the eruption in 1257 A.D. of a volcano called Samalas in Indonesia being a level 7.
— Level 8 eruptions are known as “mega colossal supervolcanoes” which are 20 times the size of level 7 eruptions, and 500 times the size of the Tonga eruptions in 2022. They can disrupt the Earth’s climate for years. Level 8 eruptions occur about once every 20,000 years or so.
— The most recent level 8 supervolcano eruption occurred about 26,000 years ago at Mount Mazama, New Zealand, which left a caldera about 28 miles across and ejected about 1000 square kilometers of material.
— The next most recent supervolcano eruption is the Toba supervolcano in Indonesia which occurred 74,000 years ago. It was at least twice as large as the more recent level 8 Mount Mazama volcano in New Zealand, and perhaps it was even many times larger that that.
— The largest eruptions can cause acid rain in the stratosphere which can last as long as a decade and cause a “volcanic winter,” and some scientists are saying that the Toba volcano caused a century of cooling.
— The Yellowstone volcano in North America will likely be a level 8 when it next erupts, and level 8 volcanoes also exist in South America. The Yellowstone hot spot has had six level 8 eruptions in the last ten millions years.
— The 2022 eruption of Tonga was preceded by about a month of smaller eruptions, and an earthquake occurred 15 before the main eruption.

This 1996 PBS Nova documentary entitled “Magnetic Storm” contains interesting information about issues with the magnetosphere of the Earth which protects the planet from dangerous radiation emitted from the sun. (Note that some of the information in this documentary has been debunked since it was created, as I have noted in the description of the video.)
Following are points made in the documentary:
— The Earth’s molten core of liquid iron gives the planet a magnetic field that surrounds it which protects the planet from deadly radiation that is emitted from the sun, which is called its “magnetosphere.”
— Scientists are saying that the Earth’s ability to generate its magnetic field is faltering, which will expose the Earth to deadly radiation from space. (Note that this claim has since been debunked however, due to the fact that the scientists were relying on data sets that were too limited. See the next video in this section for details about that matter.)
— It has been discovered by probes sent to Mars that the planet has an almost non-existent magnetic field due to the fact that its molten core had solidified in the past, which has in turn caused its previous atmosphere to drift away into space. Ancient oceans and rivers existed on the planet but that is no longer the case for that reason. (This also means that terraforming Mars is not possible unless some extreme technology could be implemented that would give the planet a magnetosphere once again. In other words, colonizing Mars would be essentially impossible or at least it would be a miserable situation for the people living there.)
— Scientists know that Mars once had a very strong magnetic field through probes which examined ancient volcanic rock on the planet, where it shows that when the rock solidified iron-based minerals aligned themselves with the magnetic field of Mars, just as what happens with solidified lava on the Earth. Additionally, it was discovered that rocks which were liquefied and solidified due to a large asteroid strike did not contain any such alignment of the iron minerals, which shows that the planet did not have its magnetic field when the asteroid struck.
— A researcher claims that in a study of ceramics from history, he is able to determine how strong the Earth’s magnetic field was at the time the pieces were fired.
— The movement of the molten iron inside the Earth is what creates its magnetic field, similar to how the movement of magnets inside an electrical generator creates electricity.
— Through studies of solidified lava on Earth such as in Hawaii, it is shown that the Earth’s magnetic field has been regularly “reversing” itself throughout the world’s history, which would cause compasses to point south rather than north for example. Through such studies it is shown that the polarity of the Earth reverses itself every 200,000 years on average, however the time between reversals can vary. The last time the poles reversed was 780,000 years ago, so the Earth is overdue for that happening again.
— Scientists have simulated pole reversals of the Earth using supercomputers, where the simulations show that the magnetic field will weaken before the reversal happens. The simulations also show that the reversal would take about 300 years to occur, where in the meantime the magnetic field of the Earth would be in a condition that could cause problems for humanity.
— It is shown that strong magnetic anomalies are increasingly occurring in regions of the Earth, which suggest that a pole reversal is starting to happen.
— A scientist discovered a large volcanic rock in Oregon that likely solidified during a period of a pole reversal sixteen million years ago, where the alignment of the minerals in the same rock were gyrating in different directions during the eruption over a period of a few days, rather than all pointing in one direction as is normally the case.

This video explains that the location of the magnetic north pole has been shifting throughout history and its current movement is not necessarily abnormal for the past 2,000 years, and it explains that recent claims that the Earth’s magnetic field has been weakening 10 times faster than previously are not accurate due to it being based on limited data sets.
What can be done about the danger of potential supervolcanoes such as Campi Flegrei and the Yellowstone volcano?
(Note that most of the points made in this section are a response to the information in the videos in this article which explain what the effects of a very large eruption would be, such as this video and these videos.)
The fact that the odds of supervolcano eruptions occurring is small reduces the motivation of people to prepare for such events. However since both the Campi Flegrei and Yellowstone volcanoes are overdue for such eruptions, along with the fact that they have recently been becoming more active are enough reasons to justify doing so. It is important that the governments in the potentially affected areas mandate that steps are taken to protect society from the danger, since not enough people will do that on their own.
Governments implementing or mandating preparations for such an event would not necessarily be particularly expensive, but it likely would be perceived as being an inconvenience or unnecessary by many people.
Most “preppers” would be well-prepared to weather through a supervolcano event without too much difficulty unless they are in the path of heavy falling ash, especially if they are specifically prepared for such a situation.
Even being in the path of the falling ash would be survivable by many if not most people if enough shelters were constructed in the towns and cities where such a risk exists.
Additionally, houses that are in the projected path of the falling ash could incorporate features which would make them suitable for surviving such an event, for example:
— New houses could have steeply slanted roofs which would not accumulate ash.
— New high rise and commercial buildings could have rooftops which are designed to hold a large amount of weight. (Remember that some high rise buildings are actually capable of having swimming pools on their rooftops.) Existing buildings that have flat rooftops could have reinforcements added to support much additional weight, or they could incorporate an addition of a steeply slanted surface on top of the flat one.
— Rooftops of existing houses and other structures could implement mechanisms that would ensure that the ash does not accumulate in large amounts while the ash is falling, similar to systems that keep rooftops clear of snow. A simple example would be a manual device such as this one that is intended to remove snow, which could be operated by a homeowner who is wearing a respirator or an oxygen tank with a sealed mask while the ash is falling.
— People in shelters of all types should wear full-face respirators to ensure that they do not breathe in ash during the eruption and in the the few days following it.
— People could install a large freshwater tank in their house, or make use of well water which is properly filtered for such an event.
— People could have much firewood or similar burnable materials stored which would be used in a wood burning stove for heating and cooking, as well as for generating electricity with the use of a relatively inexpensive device that performs such a function.
— In addition to a wood burning electrical generator, people could have diesel or gas generators which they could run sporadically for purposes such as for charging electrical devices.
— It would be essential for such houses to have a method of communication which would work under such conditions, such as satellite internet service or a shortwave radio.
Even if such houses could support their occupants for only a month or two, it would likely be enough time for them to survive the event and be evacuated.
Engines should be modified to be able to work in high ash environments
— Special internal combustion engines could be designed that would be able to operate in high-ash environments, which could be implemented in government transports, tractor trailers, farm equipment, on smaller vehicles including police cars, as well as on ships at sea. It would likely often not be particularly difficult to implement such a modification to engines to filter out the ash, especially on new engines which could initially be designed to have that capability. Laws could be passed which mandate that tractor trailers must have engines which have such a capability for example, thus enabling them to immediately be used to transport people out of the effected areas. The larger and more expensive an engine is, the more practical it would be to modify it. For example it would be simple to modify the engines of large ships at sea to be able to operate in high-ash conditions.
— Electric vehicles would likely be more impervious to ash than internal combustion vehicles that are not modified to run in such conditions, although the availability of electricity would likely be problematic in the most effected areas. Centralized diesel generators which are designed to filter out the ash could power such vehicles, however.
— Perhaps it would be possible to implement electric flying vehicles which would be designed to be able to fly through ash clouds, although flying with traditional engines would likely be able to resume relatively soon after the eruption anyway.
How to deal with the potential issue of breakdowns of society occurring
— I believe that breakdowns in society would happen most in the areas which are on the periphery of the falling ash— where many people have been able to survive the eruption without specialized shelters, but also where electricity and other essential services have ceased including access to clean water. The way to deal with that situation is for the government to be prepared to evacuate people with large fleets of vehicles as soon as possible. Once the periphery areas have been cleared out, the government can then focus on rescuing people further inside the fallout area who are residing inside of specialized shelters. It would be essential for people awaiting rescue to have a means of communication such as satellite internet service in order to coordinate with rescuers.
— A danger of ensuring that many houses throughout the fallout area are prepared to survive the initial eruption would be the fact that the occupants of most of such houses will otherwise not be prepared for the event. For example most will likely not have enough water, food, and fuel stored, which will cause the occupants of many of the houses to attack people in houses where the occupants are in fact properly prepared for the event. In order to alleviate this situation it would be important that local shelters and facilities would exist in all areas where people can go for assistance, so less people will think that they need to resort to attacking other people out of desperation.
Adequate steps are not being taken by governments to protect people from the risk of volcanic eruptions
Despite the possibility of taking steps to protect people from the potential of enormous volcanic eruptions, there are no government programs being implemented for doing so in the Midwestern U.S. and Europe for example, despite the danger of such eruptions occurring.
I think the fact that Italy and other at-risk European countries are not preparing for such a scenario despite the risk demonstrates the true nature of the European Union government for example, where it is run by people who aren’t actually interested in the well-being of the people on that continent, as this documentary explains.
I also think it is strange that currently there is such a focus on “colonizing Mars,” which is essentially an impossible goal, where Elon Musk has recently stated that having two planets that are both self-sustaining and strong is important for the long-term survival of civilization. (link) It would be an impossible task to make Mars habitable in a self-sustaining way however, due to factors such as the fact that Mars no longer has a molten core which has caused its crucial magnetosphere to disappear, as is explained in this video in this article.
It would be much more effective to dedicate resources to ensuring that humanity is ready to deal with the potential natural disasters that are likely to happen on Earth. For example Elon Musk could contribute by helping humanity to prepare for supervolcanoes by mobilizing his “Boring company” to dig large underground shelters in towns and cities throughout at-risk regions, such as in the Midwestern U.S. and in Europe. Also his Starlink satellite internet system would be very helpful in a situation of a volcanic eruption.

The densely populated areas around the Campi Flegrei volcano system are at risk due to the fact that a large or possibly even enormous volcanic eruption may happen relatively soon. However the risk goes beyond simply the areas that are above and adjacent to the volcano. Therefore it would be ideal if much of Italy could be evacuated soon and converted into uses that have a lower population density such as agricultural production.
The areas above and around the Campi Flegrei volcano system such as Naples are expensive tourist destinations that have much history, so it is understandable that people in such areas do not want to leave, including the people who own the real estate. Therefore is would be important for Italy to fairly compensate the landowners in the evacuated areas based on the current value of their property, no matter how expensive that agenda may be. Italy could make up for the cost of compensating the landowners by implementing widespread agricultural fields and hydroponic greenhouse complexes throughout the areas which would generate revenue up until the time the volcano erupts.
An “evacuation” could simply mean that residential living would mostly no longer be allowed in areas that are at risk, where instead the areas could be mandated to be used only for the purpose of agricultural production. Some people could continue be allowed to live in such evacuated areas, but only if they were employed to operate the agricultural facilities or work in the fields for example. In such a manner the population density in the areas could be reduced by a factor of 10 to 100 or even more. A much lower population density would mean that the people would likely be able to evacuate in time if an eruption would occur, and local shelters could easily be built for them as well.
Much of the evacuated areas of Italy could be converted into farmland
Italy lies between the latitudes of 47 degrees in the north and 35 degrees in the south, which is roughly comparable to being between Idaho and Missouri in the United States.
Of course many types of crops are already grown in Italy, such as rice, corn, wheat, grapes, olives and tomatoes, (link) so it would be easy to convert much of the evacuated areas into additional farmland.
Hemp could be grown in large quantities as well, which has many uses.
“Vertical farming” could be implemented in the evacuated areas using hydroponic greenhouses
Hydroponic “vertical farming” facilities could be implemented throughout Italy as well, such through the construction of large specialized greenhouse complexes and through the conversion of existing structures such as houses and apartment buildings into hydroponic growing centers for the foreseeable future.
A benefit of allowing many of the high quality already existing structures to remain standing would be the fact that they could be converted back into their original uses after the next large eruption occurs, where they could then be sold back to private landowners to further cover the cost of the initial buyout. In such a manner a large portion of central Italy could be “evacuated” to accommodate the more pessimistic but nonetheless very possible predictions of how large the eruption could be.
The crops that are grown in such complexes could feed all of Europe with fresh produce, and it could also be exported to other parts of the world.
Large “vertical farming” greenhouse complexes could be constructed in “evacuated” areas that would generate an enormous amount of food, such as the Eden Farms operation which is depicted in this video. (The greenhouses in this video exist only in Texas so far, but the company is reporting that they will be expanding.)

This video explains that many vertical farming startup companies have been going bankrupt due to investing too much in expensive and complicated technology such as automated harvesting robots, rather than focusing on keeping their operations simple and low-cost.
This video explains that shipping container farms can be a profitable way to grow hydroponic crops. (Note that the concepts spoken about this this video could be implemented in all sorts of structures rather than only shipping containers, such as houses and other structures that have been “evacuated.”)


The highest quality structures throughout the extensive evacuated areas of Italy could remain standing and simply have their interiors converted into hydroponic growing operations, where those buildings could then be sold back to private landowners after the next large eruption occurs. Also tourist activity could remain as always, such as around ancient Rome and along the cost, including even close to the volcano.

The existing structures that are allowed to remain as individual hydroponic growing operations could also have sterling engine solar energy generators installed on their rooftops and on the ground alongside the structures in order to help power the operations. Since the evacuated areas would be converted to being commercial areas it wouldn’t be as necessary to maintain aesthetics in regard to the dishes as it would be in residential areas.

At 32:27 into the video she speaks about issues with what the elite thinks is an oncoming “extinction event,” and at 35:57 she speaks about issues with the elite spending $21 trillion in the U.S. to build many secret and secretive underground bases for themselves which also make use of an extensive underground transportation system. She says that some of the bases are documented as a part of the national security infrastructure, but also many more exist than that, both in the United States and all over the world.
Fitts explains that she did an interview with Richard Dolan on the Solari report which is a detailed introduction to the topic, (link) and she explains that in 2010 the Washington Post published an article called “Top Secret America” which has a database of many of the installations that have been built throughout the U.S., including after the Patriot Act when enormous amounts of money were allocated to the agenda of building underground and above ground facilities.
