Starting in about 2015, Muslim men coming with their child brides to the asylum centers in Europe has been (sometimes) making news, and leftists have mostly been in support of the marriages due to the practice being a part of the Islamic culture.

Following are links to some articles which explain the issue:

— A 2016 news report explains that Denmark had announced that it had reversed its previous decision of separating child brides from their adult husbands in refugee centers due to it “being in violation of international conventions,” with local MPs calling the previous ban on the child marriages “completely outrageous.”  The article says that Denmark reported 27 minors being married to adults in their asylum system.

— A 2017 news report explains that a bill was then passed in Danish parliament that bans marriage of people who are under 18 unless the couple can provide a “compelling argument” for the marriage.

— An article on the Mad World News website explains that the Netherlands is not separating child brides who are as young as 12 years old from their adult Muslim “husbands” in the asylum centers, as long as they have been legally married in their home country.  The article also explains how pedophilia and child marriages are the norm in Islamic countries.

— An article on the Mad World News website explains that leftist immigration workers in Germany have changed their policy to accommodate child marriages in the asylum centers there— but only for Muslim migrants, with the excuse that they must respect the culture of the migrant's home countries.  Also explained is how Islamic spokesmen are supportive of the practice as well.

— An article on the Mad World News website explains that Norway has received its youngest admitted child bride refugee, who is 11 years old, and leftists have jumped to the defense of the marriage and her adult husband, including even a representative of the organization “Save the Children” named Thale Skybakk.  Also mentioned is the Norwegian social anthropologist Unni Wikan who supports underage marriages and also said in 2007 that “Norwegian women must take responsibility for the fact that Muslim men find their manner of dress provocative.”
