“The Sack of Magdeburg: 1631”
Running Time: 50 minutes

The video details the horrible sacking of a large peaceful German Protestant city of Magdeburg by plundering Catholic mercenary troops from countries such as Spain, Italy, and Croatia, where 20,000 people were killed and many women were raped.

[Note: The documentary begins with the following statements: “Magdeburg— May the 10th, 1631.  Catholic troops storm the proud city on the Elbe.  Their battle cry: ‘Jesus and Mary.’  Their booty: Plenty.  Their victims: 20,000 Men, women, and children, burned to death or butchered. ...”

However, obviously their motivation was not “Jesus and Mary” while they were raping and killing!  They were just a plundering horde, as is explained in the rest of the documentary.  It is true that atrocities have often been committed in the name of Christianity, however Christianity itself certainly never preaches to do that, and in fact it preaches exactly the opposite.]
