“New Evidence Of Humans In The Americas 30,000 Years Plus?”
Running Time: 5 minutes

In this video, Stephan Milo talks about the variety of primitive hominids that existed in Europe starting at around 1.8 million years ago, where extreme cold eventually eliminated all of them except for Neanderthals 250,000 years ago.

Following are points from the video:

— Chiuihuite Cave in central Mexico was excavated between 2016 and 2017, and a recent article in the journal “Nature” reports that a three meter pit was excavated that dates between 33,150 years and 31,405 years ago which shows the existence of stone tools.  1930 Stone tools were recovered in total.

— Published in the same issue of the journal were other articles that push back the date of the first known human habitation in the Americas, such as “Meadowcroft Rock Shelter” (16 to 19 thousand years ago), “Gault” (16 to 20 thousands years ago), and “Bluefish Caves” (25 thousand years ago.)

— Milo mentions potential issues with the find, such as the fact that the tools have not changed in design over that span of time, and the claim pushes the presence of humans in the Americas outside the range of the current DNA evidence.
